PCX Choose Bitplane count (0x41) on export.
Operating System: All
I was messing around with PC Paintbrush for MS-DOS. I tried exporting a 4bpp image from GIMP as PCX and reading it in PC Paintbrush. However it seems PC Paintbrush assumes that <8bpp images use multiple bitplanes ( (0x03)=1 (0x41)=4 ) but GIMP can only save with 1 bitplane ( (0x03)=4 (0x41)=1 ), this causes PC Paintbrush to misread the palette data and load the image with the wrong palette. PC Paint seems to have a similar issue but PC Paint Tries to read the image as Monochrome.
So if GIMP would allow me to select the amount of bitplanes when exporting non true-color images as PCX that would be appreciated. It already sets the number of bitplanes to 3 on true color images.
