Wayland: tablet pointer has no cursor on xwayland
GIMP version: master
Operating System: Linux/Wayland
Description of the bug
When running GIMP with XWayland on Wayland, the pointer of the mouse/pad is fine. But the pointer of a stylus is not drawn. For paint tools, the brush outline is fortunately present, but as soon as you get out of canvas, you must work with an invisible pointer (in dockables, etc.).
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Always
Reproduction steps:
- On Wayland, run GIMP with:
GDK_BACKEND=x11 app/gimp-2.99
(it will run on XWayland) - Have a tablet connected. Stylus may be in "screen", "window" or "disabled' mode, it changes nothing.
- Play around with your tablet stylus
Expected result: you get a pointer showing your position on screen
Actual result: the pad/mouse has a pointer. But not the stylus. In the below screenshot, we can see the brush outline which should also be accompanied by a pointer (I have not unchecked "Show pointer for paint tools" in Preferences).
And if you choose any other tool which doesn't use a brush, for instance the bucket fill tool, then you just have nothing to go with. Your pointer position is fully unknown. Same if you go in dockables.
@carlosg Would you know what happens?
