Option to show partial transparency in animation playback

Description
This feature is mainly used for animated gifs, but can also be used for video editing or animated pngs, which do support partial transparency.
The current implementation converts partially transparent pixels to either fully transparent, or fully opaque.
A user might be trying to animate some almost transparent clouds/smoke, for example, and playback will be useless to them.
Of course most people use this to preview GIFs, which do not support partial transparency, so if implemented this should be optional.
