Non-toolbar popups store last position.
GIMP version: 2.10.14 and I believe all previous versions as well
Operating System: macOS Catalina 10.15.2
Package: Installer from gimp.org
Description of the bug
I am lucky because my company provided me a 2018 15" MacBook Pro for work. I am lucky because the company provided me three 27" monitors. And using Gimp can cause some very disturbing situation: The non-toolbar windows (like alert, confirmation etc) stores the last position too, and will not follow the main window when it's moved to another monitor.
When this happens I always think the Gimp froze, and I already start typing the killall gimp
in the terminal. Sometimes I remember this issue too late and loose all work...
Reproduction
Reproduction steps:
- Use at least two monitors.
- Open Gimp and switch it to single window mode.
- Open a PNG, a popup should appear and asks about the colour profile.
- Accept, close, doesn't matter.
- Close Gimp.
- Open Gimp again.
- Move the main window to the other monitor.
- Open a PNG, the popup doesn't follow the main window, and will appear on the original position ca. "n x 1000" pixels away, out of my viewport.
…
Expected result: the non-toolbar windows should always follow the main window and should appear in the middle of the app window.
Actual result:
