Background / Border for text
Operating System: GIMP improvement, not bound to an OS
Description of the feature
My feature suggestion is simple: I would like to have an easy way for text to have a border (or small background outline).
So far the only way I know is:
- Create text layer
- Text to path
- select outline from path
- give border to selection
- paint selected area onto a layer
The main problem here is that you have to redo all steps if you change the text, it's size, it's font or actually anything.
My idea is to make that an easy to access option the the text menu (center of the example image).
An improvement would be that the outline/border or maybe shadow is projected into a specific direction. (border of the example image) Another ideas are that it only effects the text's inside or outside face or have different outline colours
Use cases
Use case would be to make the creation of memes easier in GIMP - with the upcomming EU Art. 13 maybe an important thing.
