GIMP crazy slow with built-in profile on grayscale image
GIMP version: master
Operating System: Fedora 29
Package: self-build
Description of the bug
I was testing with a grayscale image (created by GEGL with a simple "gegl:buffer-source" -> "gegl:save" graph, no option), and GIMP gets crazy slow (everything: painting, panning…).
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Always
Reproduction steps:
Expected result: GIMP performs as usual.
Actual result: GIMP is slow as hell.
Additional information
- GIMP also outputs these messages:
gimp_color_transform_new: error making format: GIMP built-in D65 Grayscale with sRGB TRC: not defining an RGB space
Which apparently just means we fallback to using LCMS.
- Also when converting to 8-bit, it becomes faster.
- Finally the image is horribly broken when converted to RGB, which is problem #2643 (closed) (so probably unrelated, but I note it here, just in case).
Marking it as a performance bug. For the built-in profile at least, we should have fast editing.
