Shaped gradient needs scalar

Description
In most of the Gradient fill modes (Lienar, Square, Circle, Spiral), clicking and dragging the mouse defines the length of the gradient fill. This should be the case when filling Shaped gradients as well. Instead, the gradient length is fixed to the maximum distance away from the edge found in a selection and the length defined by the click-and-drag of the mouse is ignored.
It is not possible to create, for example, a gradient that fills a set distance (like 50 pixels) inwards from the edge of a selection and then subsequently stops or repeats.
The only workarounds are to either adjust the start and stop points of the used gradient itself, or to use a feathered selection in place of the Gradient tool.
I suggest the following options to expand Angled gradient functionality:
- Clicking and dragging inside a selection with an Angled gradient defines the length of the gradient, in the same behavior as other fill modes.
- Clicking inside a selection, without drag, uses the maximum available gradient length, i.e. farthest distance from edge of selection (current behavior).
