Line continuation / snapping with paint tools

Description
When drawing outlines (like inking comics), one will usually not be able to draw a complete shape in one go. Instead, you draw part by part, curve by curve. Thus arises the need to continue strokes in a manner as seamless as possible.
So this is a request for a snapping feature for all paint tools, that if enabled, counteracts the lack of precision when extending a stroke. If the pointer is moved close enough to the end of a stroke for snapping, it should be marked (by drawing a circle around it, perhaps). The correction itself could be drawing with an offset to the pointer position / 'teleporting' the pointer a tiny bit on mouse/pen-down.
Additionally, snapping could also work along a stroke, to rule out small gaps or overlaps that happen so easily otherwise.
