Operating System:Mac OS HIGH SIERRA 10.13.6
Package: from gimp.org
Description of the bug
Please describe your issue with details. The Script Fu "guide by percent" dialog was not minimizing as usual after completion of the task of setting guides by percent.
I chose to "force quit" the script fu function using the "force quit" function in Mac OS.
Upon "force quit", Gimp issued error: gimp-bin: gimp_wire_read():error
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Always
Reproduction steps:
- Initiate the "guides by percent" script fu process
- Install guides successfully
- Script Fu guides by percent dialog will not minimize
- "Force quit" script fu guides by percent process (#72698)(?)
- Gimp issues gimp_wire_read()error
Expected result: Force quit script fu process
Actual result: Script fu process (#72698 (?) is force quit but Gimp issues error/warning.
Additional information
My installation of Gimp 2.10.4 on standard Mac OS operating system is having many startup issues which leads me to believe that the Gimp installer is looking for directory folders/files that are not present in the standard installation of Mac OS High Sierra.

All of these errors have some impact on all of the bugs that I am experiencing!!!
If I am experiencing all of these errors because of directory structure problems, then all of the MAC users are probably experiencing the same problems as well!
Someone needs to look into the Gimp installation process and fix the problems with directory structure; Gimp needs to populate the Mac OS operating system with the folders/files it needs or function nominally with the existing Mac OS Directory structure.
I am getting frustrated with the lack of response on these issues; if I don't get some help here, I will be less likely to continue reporting bugs! Help!!!
