Lasso tool does not complete task

Gimp Ver 2.10.4 on WIN 10 BUG: Lasso mask tool does not complete task until you select one of the alternate mask tools. eg: circle or rectangle tool.

With a photo open do the following,

  1. Select the lasso tool
  2. Use the tool to select an area
  3. Close the selected area by joining the line to the first dot
  4. Click out of the area on any section of your image
  5. The area is marked with straight lines but does not change to dotted lines so is not actually selected or active
  6. Select one of the other tools, the previously selected area now changes to dotted lines and becomes active

The other tools all seem to work fine. This occurred in Ver 2.10.3 also I am not a programmer just a user so it could be one of my settings.

Regards and thanks for a great program Steve
