Allow precise or numeric input in color curves tool
Operating System: All
Description of the feature
When trying to reproduce a tone curve I have, I realized that GIMP 2.10.2 makes it hard to do because of these reasons:
-
You can precisely move a curve point vertically with the up/down keys, but you cannot move a curve point horizontally using keys
-
There is a small gray "coordinates box" that shows the position of the mouse cursor, even when moving a curve point with the up/down keys!
-
Moving to a specific point (like 32,8) using the mouse it very hard to do, even for the patient.
Therefor I suggest any or all of the following mechanims:
a) Allow 2D precise movement of a curve point using cursor keys
b) Allow 2D precise movement of a curve point using the mouse wheel
c) Allow numeric input of a curve points desired coordinates. That could be a small dialog popped up with a right-moune-button request that allows to enter x and y values.
d) Allow a spread-sheet-like editor for all curve control points.
e) When moving a curve point show the point's coordinates, not the mouse coordinates in the small gray box.
Use cases
Use case is entering or editing curves to match some target specifications.
