Description
I've spent a day to really enjoy the release of GIMP 2.10 and I'm already in love. Lots of new excellent features in there!
In my migration from 2.8 to 2.10 I noticed that the context menu shown when right-clicking a layer has grown significantly in height. Some items I use frequently has been pushed further down. This is fine, but it made me reflect a bit on the list order. The menu items which are positioned at the top of the right-click menu are typically:
- quicker to find (less time spent visually scanning the list).
- easier to move the mouse pointer to (less distance to move pointer and less risk of overshooting).
Maybe it would make sense to investigate what items in a professional workflow is used frequently and hence, would benefit from being positioned in the top of the context menu? (While still maintaining the categories of course).
I am by no means a representative sample but there's a few items which I hit in my workflow much more than the current top 5 items in that right-click menu:
- Layer Mask Operations (specifically Add Layer Mask)
- New From Visible / To New Layer
Thanks for the consideration!
