The usage of issues to discuss GIMP
My preferred 'Issue rules' would be; Reply to specific comments. This keeps a discussion organized and may not be obvious to a new user. Chatting about other issues in a discussion is a friendly way to interact and solve problems and should be encouraged
A certain amount of anarchy is to be expected. A certain level of tolerance is needed, and a reasonable level of respect should be shown to other people. I've been flatly contradicted on seemingly simple statements, pedantically picked up and chewed over on the smallest of ambiguities, been censored for talking about tools. Been told to raise additional issues, as if the comments sections are not for discussions. I get it, people are naturally irrational and contradictory, and realize I can be that too. However, please, could we relax a little, and enjoy a chat about stuff we are working on. There seems to be a lack of contributors, one can only wonder why.
Also, continuing a more personal note, I have noticed that lower priority issues are rarely fixed. For me, it's not the technical accuracy of the ticket, or if formats have been followed. It's about caring enough to try and understand the issue, investigating it, and making a sincere attempt to fix it. I really don't mind how badly the issue is written or translated.
The usage of issues to discuss GIMP
It's an important question, with long term consequences. And please, don't refer me to IRC or Discourse or some other carnival or wasteland, that's the point of this issue. The the work done is here, the knowledge is here. If you know them, please consider listing all the current 'Issue rules' so that everyone can read them and consider the rationale.
