Description of the bug
Edit: Original bug was due to an image with erroneous color profile. That made me start wondering if there are images where the lack of color profile causes wrong-looking previews, and I think I found one.
Open the image http://photodb.illusdolphin.net/media/15297/browsertest_lut.jpg , choose to Keep
the profile.
Then open Filters->Enhance->NL Filter
. Resulting difference can be seen in #10633 (comment 1986069)
Interesting bug when viewing a specific JPEG 2000 file. The file in question is https://www.fnordware.com/j2k/relax.jp2 found at https://www.fnordware.com/j2k/jp2samples.html
When opening the file, it has weird colors, but strangely it looks like it should when it is shown through a preview window.
Image: The jp2 file is opened and has weird colors. The Lighting effect plug-in is then opened, and the image is displayed correctly in the plug-in preview.
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Always
Reproduction steps:
- Open browsertest_lut.jpg
- Choose to
Keep
the image profile. - Open any plug-in with a preview, e.g. NL Filter. The image has different rendering due to no color profile in the preview
…
Expected result: That the preview looks like the image
Actual result: Preview differs from viewing of image
