Make GIMP Text Tool Adopt User's Last Settings, Not Tool Options Settings
Operating System: Windows
Description of the feature
In my opinion, GIMP's text tool should use whatever the last user settings were in the text tool box every time instead of reverting back to whatever the settings are in the Tool Options. Or this behavior should at least be a toggle in the Tool Options when the text tool is selected.
A user activates the text tool. They click on the canvas and type text. They select the text, and change the font, font size, colors, etc. for their text within the text tool box that appears above the active text box. Then, the user clicks elsewhere on the canvas and begins typing some more text. The new text that is created takes on whatever the last settings were in the text tool box. Use cases
The old behavior is that when the user clicks on the canvas to create a new line of text, the text tool simply reverts back to whatever the settings are in the Tool Options. So, if the user changed the font from "Times New Roman" to "Arial," changed the font size from "400" to "50" pixels, and changed the font color from "white" to "blue," their next line of text will be "Times New Roman," "400 pixels," "white," and the user will have to go in and change the settings to "Arial," "50 pixels," "blue." This becomes very annoying and time consuming as the user has to go back to the text tool box each time and change the settings, or needs to remember to change the Tool Options settings before creating the next line of text.
Perhaps this can be resolved by having the changes in the text tool box automatically change the settings in the Tool Options (unless instructed by the user not to do this via a toggle in the Tool Options).
