Dissolve paint/blend mode reveals transparent pixel color below zoom level 51%
Environment/Versions
- GIMP version: 2.99.16 and 2.10
- Package:
- Operating System: Windows
Description of the bug
*UPDATE I don't know if it fixable or intended or anything, feel free to edit the title too as it is in fact not just dissolve but it illustrates the problem well.*UPDATE
If a soft brush is set to dissolve or applied on a layer with dissolve blend mode then the area the brush was applied to reveals color information (RGB values) below 51% zoom level. It is very distracting as already erased (100% transparent) pixels will show through when the view is zoomed out.
UPDATE:
It's not actually caused by dissolve but with 1x1 pixel gaps.
zoom level 550% to 51% displays fine!
On zoom level 50% you can see the red stroke I painted
Reproduction
Is the bug reproducible? Always
Reproduction steps:
- Fill the base layer with color
- Add alpha channel
- Clear (make it 100% transparent)
- Paint on it with airbrush in dissolve mode (or try the alternative above)
- zoom out past 51%
…
Expected result: Zoom interpolation doesn't reveal what's "under"
Actual result: Zoom interpolation reveals it on 50% and below
