There is an updating slow down when the 'active' treeview branch has more than one layer
Environment/Versions
- GIMP Version:2.99.17
- Package: gimp source repo
- Operating System: Linux, X11
Issue Description
There is an updating slow down when the 'active' treeview branch has more than one layer, compounded per extra layer. or if the layer is nested within a tree.
- Create a large image and paint on it with a large brush, scaled so that it's a little laggy on your system That layer should have opacity set to 100, and be in normal mode.
- make a copy of that layer
- copy both those layers and repeat until you have a bunch of layers
- paint on the top layer again, it will be super laggy
- group all the layers beneath the top layer
- now paint again on the top layer, it's speed is back to how it was before all the layers were added
