gedit stops highlighting HTML text after typing letter "e" (without quotes) in tag <title>
I start on an empty file. I start writing the following tags with all those spaces in between:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<HTML lang="en">
<HEAD>
<title
</HEAD>
<BODY>
</BODY>
</HTML>
I save the file before I write the <title>
tag so, from that moment; I can get highlighted text.
then, I start writing the
(gedit:10777): GtkSourceView-CRITICAL **: 13:00:11.269: Highlighting a single line took too much time: syntax highlighting will be disabled
Sometimes, closing the file and start editing it again, doesn't solve the problem. I have try it more than once or open another html document that will highlight so the problematic one also gets highlighted.
It also happens to me with the <h1>
, as it has also been reported before.
The most curious thing is that, if I don't leave all those spaces in between the different main tags (<html>,<head> and <body>
) and its closing ones, I don't get the bug.
So, nothing happens if I, instead, write things like:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<HTML lang="en">
<HEAD>
<title
</HEAD>
<BODY>
</BODY>
</HTML>
