inconsistent detach behaviour from terminal
Doing this does not consistently have the same effect:
$ gedit foo.txt
It will always open foo.txt
, but it only sometimes releases control back to the terminal. The technical reason being that the first instance is the actual process, and every subsequent invocation just talks to the first.
This is a very large annoyance though and adds extra unnecessary steps to the work flow having to check if this is the first gedit or not.
So pretty please figure out a way to get consistent behaviour. Ideally always detaching. Perhaps a gedit-server like gnome-terminal?
Also see #26 (closed) which is related in that it wants one process per invocation.
