Repeated error messages flood the status bar; should only be displayed once
Bug Summary
Very frequently, Geary will fail to retrieve emails, and it will complain with a banner with "Account problem - Application has encountered an error". If I leave Geary open for more than an hour, it will flood the status bar with new messages. I then have to close all the messages by hand, kill Geany, and reopen it.
I don't have any IMAP connection problems with Thunderbird or Evolution. The password supplied is correct.
Your installation
- Geary version: 3.36.1
- Installation method: Package (installed by default on Pop!_OS)
- Desktop environment: Gnome 3.36
- Operating system and version: Pop!_OS 20.04 (Ubuntu-based)
- Email provider: Two different self-hosted emails
Steps to reproduce
- Open Geary
- Wait for about one hour.
What happened?
Geary flooded the status bar with error messages. Geary does not retrieve emails. I don't have problems with email retrieval using other email clients, like Thunderbird or Evolution.
What did you expect to happen?
Geary should retrieve emails successfully. If there should be a real account problem, it shouldn't flood the status bar, but only say there is a problem one time.
