Check your sending server details
Bug Summary
When trying to connect to my mail server I get the message
Account not created: Check your sending server details
Due to the lack of a developer reproduction this report should be viewed as a request for information on how to correctly debug this issue myself. I need to know what the problem is that Geary is finding with my smtp server. I can connect and send emails with thunderbird and evolution without any problems. I already had an issue with Geary not being able to authenticate correctly due to it giving the server user@porifera.site as the user name instead of just 'user', but I was able to diagnose this and compensate on the server side. The server is running postfix and dovecot on a linux virtual box from strato.de
Any suggestions would be welcome.
The sending server details are: smtp.porifera.site StartTLS Use same login as receiving
I also tried TLS and none for security just out of thoroughness.
The server log shows a successful authentication and the a client disconnect.
Your installation

Steps to reproduce
You won't be able to reproduce this without credentials for my mail server.

- Enter password

What happened?
The message was shown:
Account not created: Check your sending server details
The account was not created.
What did you expect to happen?
An email account should have been created, and emails retrieved from the inbox.
Relevant logs and/or screenshots
As mentioned Alt-Shift-I does not work in my case. When started from the console, there is a startup error: Error preparing Backend 'telepathy' and at step 4 in the reproduction: parser error : SYSTEM or PUBLIC, the URI is missing and then the start of an html document. I suspect these errors may be unrelated.
–debug gives this:
