Receieving a message doesn't scroll the message list

When I switch to Geary and have new messages, I often miss them because they are off screen. What I mean is, if my messages list looks like this:

===TOP OF MESSAGES LIST=== ---START VISIBLE AREA--- Message 1 Message 2

and then I get new emails, Geary looks like this:

===TOP OF MESSAGES LIST=== New Message Another new message ---START VISIBLE AREA--- Message 1 Message 2

What I would expect is this:

===TOP OF MESSAGES LIST=== ---START VISIBLE AREA--- New Message Another new message Message 1 Message 2

Basically, if I have new messages, I should see them when I alt-tab to Geary. Just having the unread count on "Inbox" isn't really good enough (especially if I have a bunch of folders/labels, and "inbox" is scrolled off screen).
