"Conversation moved to.." popup blocks email From address
Bug Summary
When I delete or move a conversation to my Spam folder, Geary pops up a window saying "Conversation moved to ". Unfortunately, this window blocks the "From" address of the next message that comes up for about 5 seconds or so. This can be incredibly annoying when I have a bunch of spam and trash in my inbox, and I want to get rid of them but also correctly distinguish between spam and not spam. Thus, when I'm deleting spam from my inbox, I end up having to wait 5 seconds between each deletion.
Your installation
To obtain installation information, copy it from Geary's Problem Report dialog if shown (or else open the Geary Inspector by typing Shift + Alt + I) by selecting System, and clicking the Copy button, then pasting here.
- Geary version: 3.36.2
- Geary revision: Debian/3.36.2-1
- GTK version: 3.24.23
- GLib version: 2.66.0
- WebKitGTK version: 2.30.1
- Desktop environment: X-Cinnamon
- Distribution name: Debian
- Distribution release: testing
- Installation prefix: /usr
- Email provider: self-hosted IMAP
Steps to reproduce
- Hit Ctrl-J or Delete on a conversation
- Watch as the conversation disappears, Geary displays the next conversation, and a window pops up that says "Conversation moved to Spam [undo] [x]" (or "Conversation moved to Trash [undo] [x]")
- Wait for the popup window to disappear. It will take approximately 5 seconds.
What happened?
That popup window blocks the From address of the next message for 5 seconds. I can make it disappear sooner than that if I click the [x] on the popup window, but that requires switching from keyboard to mouse.
What did you expect to happen?
I would still like to have a popup window letting me know that the conversation has been moved, and giving me 5s to undo the action. However, I would like it to not block the From address. There's plenty of unused space in a Geary window for that popup to show up.
Relevant logs and/or screenshots
Here's a screenshotted example. This email from "Jimmy Carter <info@???????" - is it from actblue? Is it from a random PAC? Is it from the Biden campaign?
After 5 seconds, I can see the actual From address, but I don't want to wait 5 seconds every single time . I would like to be able to quickly cycle through every message, deleting or marking as spam as appropriate.
