Recognize power/media/volume keys or buttons at login screen

Description
I use a Logitech K750 wireless keyboard on my Fedora 17 x64 system. The keyboard has shortcut keys for volume, mute, play/pause/next/prev, and suspend. All of these work out of the box in GNOME, but none works at the GDM login, lock, or user switching screen.
The suspend button is the one I particularly miss here. I typically log out of my system and then suspend it; it would be nice to be able to do that with the keyboard.
Expected behavior: Keys that function in GNOME should perform the same way at the GDM screen
Actual behavior: No shortcut keys work. All interaction must be done with the mouse.
I'd recommend this for the next round of "Every Detail Matters"
