Filter match entry in log file is unclear
I just wrote a filter Spam-Beschwerde to forward messages with @nl.
in address
directly to the official complaints office of the EU (allgemeiner-spam@internet-beschwerdestelle.de).
The filter log part for Spam-Beschwerde:
2019-12-08 09:43:06 - Applied filter "Spam_Beschwerde" to message from Reebok <reebok@nl.fitnessmagazin.de> - "Sebastian, exklusiv 40% Nachlass im Reebok Online Shop"
Header 'From' value ' "Reebok" <reebok@nl.fitnessmagazin.de>' does match '@nl.'
Finished test of message uid:914 subject:'Sebastian, exklusiv 40% Nachlass im Reebok Online Shop' from '@vivaldi.net : INBOX' as MATCHED
Filter 'Spam_Beschwerde' matched
Action: Forward message to 'allgemeiner-spam@internet-beschwerdestelle.de'
Action: Set Seen flag
Action: Delete
Filter 'Spam_Beschwerde' did not match
seems to match, but
- in the very last line it is written
Filter 'Spam_Beschwerde' did not match
(which is confusing) - I cannot find any forwarded message relation to that email in evolution.
- The next filter Provider-Junk is processed for that email (see below). From documentation I expected the filtering is stopped after the first match.
The filter log part for Provider-Junk:
2019-12-08 09:43:07 - Applied filter "Provider-Junk" to message from Reebok <reebok@nl.fitnessmagazin.de> - "Sebastian, exklusiv 40% Nachlass im Reebok Online Shop"
Header 'From' value ' "Reebok" <reebok@nl.fitnessmagazin.de>' does not match 'neu@mailings.web.de'
Header 'From' value ' "Reebok" <reebok@nl.fitnessmagazin.de>' does match '@nl.'
Finished test of message uid:914 subject:'Sebastian, exklusiv 40% Nachlass im Reebok Online Shop' from '@vivaldi.net : INBOX' as MATCHED
Filter 'Provider-Junk' matched
Action: Stopped processing
Action: Delete
Filter 'Provider-Junk' did not match
Stopped processing per request
Here it's the same: the filter matched, but the very last line tells it doesn't. However in this case I found the email in the trash folder.
