Provide option for: Folder Properties → Appearance → "Show number of all emails" (instead of unread)
I'd like to have the option to override the global setting of showing the number of unread emails of a folder:
Select a folder within my account: Folder Properties → Appearance → "Show number of all emails" (instead of unread)
This should result in, e.g., "inbox (3)" if this folder directly contains for example one unread email and two read emails instead of just showing "inbox (1)" in this case.
Different example: "inbox (2)" when there are two read emails and not a single unread one in that folder.
I personally would also prefer this indicator to be in bold letters but this is maybe part of a discussion since can also use a different styling for it as well.
Reason (background story): With shared inboxes (other people do read the same emails as well), it's almost impossible to convince every person and each MUA involved not to mark all emails as read when skimming through the shared inbox. Therefore, important emails potentially do get unnoticed which is a problem with important shared inboxes.
Yes, you can't solve non-tech issues with tech but this would be a workaround for the moment that could address situations like that. With this optional feature (per folder!), I might as well enable this in my shared inbox folder and get at least a visual indicator if there are "new" (but already marked as "read") emails.
