Handle line returns from pasted passwords
Tested with Evolution 3.38.4
If you try to simply copy a cell from LibreOffice Calc containing a password (because yeah, that's sometimes where you have to get it from) and paste it into Evolution's password prompts for IMAP accounts etc., Evolution will reject it. You instead have to go into the cell's editing mode, highlight just the user-visible part of the string, and paste that into Evolution.
My guess is that copying a cell from a spreadsheet probably includes an invisible line break character (I have no idea which, could it be \r
, \n
, or some combination of those?). And yet, pasting those into website password prompts using Firefox works fine, so presumably apps like Firefox handle that scenario. Would be neat if Evolution could do that too, because otherwise it would be confusing for non-technical users ("I just pasted the password you gave me in that spreadsheet / email / wiki table / etc., but the mail thing says it's not the right password!").
