Option to download attachment on demand (not automatically) when sync for offline operation
Disclaimer: I read the user manual, did a couple of searches over existing issues, here and there... and of course I tried to look for the option in some of numerous Evolution settings... so far, I couldn’t find what I was looking for.
I’ve got an IMAP account setup on Evolution. It is set up to download emails and copy folders content locally for offline operation. Works like a charm.
When I’ve got an incoming email, Evolution automatically downloads the email for offline use. It seems Evolution also downloads attachments automatically for offline use.
Since I’m often the recipient of quite large attachments and my Internet bandwidth is rather low, this behavior can be quite an annoyance.
Of course, I understand this can be desirable for some users (if not most of them), but I’d love to have an option to disable sync of email attachments.
This is something I’ve got on the android app K9Mail for example. I think (but might be wrong) I had it as well on Thunderbird.
To reword my need, as a user : I want to fetch email content fast for offline use, but I rarely open attachments (I simply scan emails to sort them quickly, and get back to them later on). Also, I want to download attachment when I need them, on demand only (it’s my problem if at that time my connection is off).
Is that a possible set up with Evolution?
