Links added in HTML mail composer get removed in plain text part
Context:
HTML links are frequently inserted into HTML messages. This information has to be brought to the attention of the recipient, whatever display preference he sets.
Issue:
In Evolution, when composing an HTML e-mail including HTML links, this information just disappear in generated plaintext part of the message.
Example of current issue:
- Sender composes an HTML message with Evolution (generated code from HTML WYSIWYG composer)
Hey, just check my new pics!
- Recipient displays plaintext part of message only (any e-mail client)
Hey, just check my news pics!
- What the recipient is going to reply: "Did you forgot anything?"
Instead, example of what could have been generated in plaintext part:
Plaintext message generated from HTML
Hey, just check my news pics (https://someplace)!
Implementation proposition:
- If an HTML link is included in HTML composer, include this information in plaintext part of the message
- Add the "href" ressource after linked text. Format example:
text + WhiteSpace + '(' + link + ')'
