Description
Created attachment 201614 Example of postscript file which has problem.
The system being used is a nearly virgin Linux, Ubuntu 11.10. Have seen bug on both the i386 and x86_64 installations.
I have a PostScript file which is a drawing produced by a drafting program Pro/Engineer by a "save to file" print operation. A copy of the file is attached. The pro/E program gives the file the default ".plt" file extension, but it is simply a generic PostScript file.
Viewing the file within Nautilus shows it recognized as Type "PS document". However, when we double click to open it, Evince (Document Viewer) is launched and shows the error "Unable to open document, Error opening file: Permission denied". However, double clicking on the same file with a ".ps" extension opens the file correctly within Evince. The error also appears when I try to open the plt file from within Evince (File / Open / All Files).
We also note that when viewing the directory within Nautilus, the version of the file with the ps extension shows an icon image of the file, but the plt extension version does not.
