Backspace in non-continuous mode should go to bottom of previous page, not top of previous page

Description
Hi!
When reading a document using Evince, I use the Space key to go forward (the direction of reading). I'm not using "continuous view".
In so doing, it jumps to the top after switching pages. This is correct of course.
However, when I want to go backwards (e.g. using Backspace), I naturally want it to the bottom of the previous page. This is how it works in djview with the Space and Backspace keys. But using Backspace makes Evince jump to the top of the previous page (or more correctly, almost the top...)
Actually, it jumps only almost to the top of the previous page. Then another Backspace makes it go a few more millimeters all the way to the top. The next Backspace makes it jump to the previous page once again. So it still takes two hits of Backspace for each time it jumps to a previous page...
I posted this on evince-list@gnome.org, and was recommended to report it here.
I'm using Debian Sid, evince 2.32.0-1, and djview4 4.8-1
