No way to mandate Evince to use internal synctex when there's a system one installed
During meson configure, if it finds an external synctex, it will use it even if passing internal_synctex=true
to meson configure.
So, no way to use the internal synctex when there's a system one installed. In my case I wanted to use the internal because the external was failing in the linker step due to some unknown symbol.
This was while building a flatpak application that depends on evince-libs (libdocument, libview). The application itself used synctex, and the external version it was using failed in the linker step when building evince, so then I tried to force to use the internal version through meson configure flags, but to no avail.
