Well defined cookie separation between private mode tabs/windows
Right now, epiphany will (at least usually) have separate cookie stores for different private windows. I believe that this is important, because I do not want e.g. facebook cookies to leak into any other tab. However, when opening a new tab from an existing one by following a link, then one likely wants to share cookies.
A well defined behaviour could be:
- Use a new session when user enters a URL manually (including when replacing the old tab content)
- Use a new session for any new tab or window
- Use the same session when following a link (including when opening the link in a new tab or window)
This might need input from the design team.
Btw. Firefox appears to be more broken in this regard. It seems to always share cookies between windows/tabs which means information is always leaked and may never be destroyed if one tab stays open for a long time.
