Description
Hi,
nowadays many mobile phones, etc take pictures with GPS marks. In my opinion it is time to show a map next to the image to see where the photo was taken.
I mean i want the default image viewer in ubuntu to show me the location where the photo was taken. OSM Map data could be downloaded on the fly.
Have a look at prune (http://activityworkshop.net/software/gpsprune/index.html) and try it with some fotos that have a gps tag and you will see what i mean. It s not exactly a solution, because here the focus is to show the map and in the image viewer the focus should be to show the images. But imagine the map would be the little image in the bottom right corner and the image would be displayed as normal.
You should be able to zoom into the map when you mouse over and do the zoom gesture. And you should look for a gpx/kml file in the folder and display the route (like if you load the kml/gpx file and the images in prune).
This would be innovative and a cool feature.
This is a good example for GPS Prune with a loaded gpx file and loaded images is http://activityworkshop.net/software/gpsprune/screengrabs/gpsprune_13_ordnance_ survey.png PS: it is under GPL and written in Java
