Suggestion for additional line-types

Description
Civil and mechanical engineering diagrams often feature objects connected by springs. It would be very useful if Dia had a line-type which resembles a spring. Usually, this would be a squiggly line, e.g. -////////-. The size of the squiggles could be tied to the "Dash length" property. Note that my simulated spring has short straight lines at the ends, along the centerline. I would consider this a feature.
Some would prefer a spring drawn more like a coil than a set of sharp squiggles. Presumanly this is significantly more challenging and should be considered gravy.
Note that this is not something which can be easily handled with a polyline because as objects are repositioned, one would like the squiggly line connecting them to be re-routed accordingly.
A polyline drawn with this line-type may pose some challenges. How does a squiggly line esthetically turn a sharp corner? I do not know.
Thanks.
