Show remote mouse pointer when remote user takes over
Affected version
- Nightly flatpak: not tested but presumed to be affected too
- Local: Gnome Connections 45.0 on Fedora 39 / Wayland
- Remote: Gnome desktop sharing in Fedora 39 (Wayland or X11) via RDP (port 3389)
Steps to reproduce
- Connect to remote desktop.
- Switch to fullscreen (both monitors are FullHD).
- Stop moving the mouse. Alternatively, move the mouse to another monitor.
- Let the remote user take over the mouse.
Current behavior
Remote mouse pointer is not visible. Local user cannot see where remote user is pointing.
Expected behavior
When remote user moves the mouse and local mouse pointer is not moving or it is out of the window, show remote mouse pointer. Either mirror remote pointer image or just highlight the location. Simple highlighting circle is probably easier to implement and less confusing for the local user. Extra points for visualizing clicks.
