Mouse offset when displaying an incompatible aspect ratio in full screen mode
Affected version
- Nightly flatpak: Can't test it because not in a position right now. Will update the post later.
- Other: 45.0 on flatpak/Phosh; Also present in 44.0 on flatpak/PopOS
Steps to reproduce
- Create a new connection to a host that offers a display with a narrower aspect ratio than the display of the active device. e.g., 2:3 remote display vs 5:8 on the client.
- Full-screen the connection's window
- Click on the connection window.
Current behavior
The host responds to a click at an offset from the actual click position
Based on the size of the offset, my guess is that the click is transmitting the window-local coordinates. Because the aspect ratio of the remote display differs, the remote display is centered in the window. The client transmits a click that is positioned as if the remote display were left-justified.
Expected behavior
The host responds to the click at the position that was clicked.
