Pinephone mic always set to 33% when a SIP call is started
What problem did you encounter
When placing or answering a SIP call, the mic level on the pinephone is always set to 33% which is too soft so the other person can't hear me. I have to open pavucontrol, go to Input Devices and up the level in order for the other person to hear me every call. I have tried toggling the default input after setting the desired level to see if that makes the setting stick as well as tested this with a Sound Recorder app and that app always stuck with whatever the input level was already set to. Only calls leads to the 33% level.
What is the actual behaviour?
Audio input is always reduced to 33% when a call is started
What is the expected behaviour?
Audio input should stay at whatever it's already set to in system settings or calls should expose a setting to the user for default call input level.
How to reproduce
- Install latest Manjaro Phosh beta on a pinephone (https://github.com/manjaro-pinephone/phosh/releases)
- Update to latest packages with pacman
- Add a SIP account to calls
- Install and run pavucontrol
- Observe Input Devices tab while a call is started in calls
Which version of Calls did you encounter the bug in?
-
I used the precompiled Manjaro package (e.g. by running a prebuilt image).
Calls Version:
$ gnome-calls --version
calls v44.2+
