Keep filename extension when shortening

Description
When I try to burn a CD (through Ubuntu 10.04's Nautilus) with filenames longer than 64 characters, Brasero offers shortening the filenames to keep Windows compatibility. That's fine. However, the shortened filenames seem to be simply truncated, cutting of the extension. The files then become practically unusable under Windows or in an MP3 CD player. I suggest that filename truncation keeps the extension and cuts of pieces of the filename before the extension.
