Network synchronisation

Description
If the user owns several computers/laptops/netbooks and wants to be able to write their daily diary entry on whichever computer is closest to hand (e.g. if they're travelling), it would be quite useful if Almanah were able to synchronise diary entries across the network.
I think it would be better if this was peer-to-peer, rather than via a central server. Including a central server would introduce the cost of running the server and the potential (or perceived) privacy implications of sending private diary entries through someone else's server.
Diary entries would have to remain encrypted when transmitted across the network, and the system would have to ensure that only Almanah instances belonging to the same user were synchronised with each other.
Conversely, discovery of remote Almanah instances should be easy, and setting this up should be painless. Hopefully firewalls won't be a consideration, since I envisage that this synchronisation would only occur between Almanah instances inside the user's LAN.
