Description
Would it be an option to release Aisleriot as a windows executable?
Microsoft now seems to have chosen the path of squeesing money out of users the new maffia way. Charging $1.49 per month.
My take on this: If Gnome gives Aisleriot as a gesture to people why are mobbed by the M$ mobsters. Microsoft has stolen (deleted) this game, and now offers an option to 'buy it back' or rent it back actually.
Many elderly people have been discovering computing, and they happen to like playing card games. This is a great way introduce those people to freedom at a moment they are brutally abused and their toys are taken away.
That's how Microsoft squeezes the money out of them. Most don't even know how to pay even if they would... And so they are from now on being irritated and distracted with ads when they just try to play an old game that has been free of charge since the middle ages. How legal is it for Microsoft to charge anything for that at all? A deck of cards can be had for $0.99 it doesn't re-sell your privacy either. And Microsoft wants both for a price 10 times higher then that.
Severity I have set to minor since it is not a GNOME bug, though from the players perspective it is a very critical issue
GNOME to the rescue?
Kind regards,
WP.
