Fullcolor: Lowres folder assets out of sync with the scalables
scalable | lowres |
---|---|
The low res folders are currently out of sync with the redesigned scalables covering 85% of the use cases. Rather than slavishly redraw all the low res assets using the outdated toolchain, it might be worth re-evaluation the needs for low res:
- Grid/icon view is perfectly servicable with the 128x128 nominal sized scalable (designed with 32x32px downscale in mind).
- List view might still benefit from the two low zoom levels using a pixel perfect lowres
- File Open/Save dialogs
Apart from workflow/maintenance aspects, @bertob maintains the view that the thicker outline style of the low res icons carries a dated look, incompatible of the style refresh that GNOME 40 has undergone.
Let's test how things look with no low res for the scenarios above and if necessary, design low res without the strong outlines and only for the sizes actually required.
