skip no-dns and no-routes
Hello!
I am not really sure what the reason is but connecting to VPN using NM-fortisslvpn lead me to not being able to open any website.
I have checked using px ax | grep vpn that wnen I click "connect" next to my vpn connection it launches openfortivpn with the following parameters:
openfortivpn -c /var/lib/NetworkManager-fortisslvpn/bbbb538b-a4dc-4991-9517-a06419aa0216.config --no-routes --no-dns <HOSTNAME> --pinentry /usr/lib/networkmanager/nm-fortisslvpn-pinentry --pppd-plugin /usr/lib/pppd/2.4.9/nm-fortisslvpn-pppd-plugin.so
I examined content of path after "-c" flag, there were my username and password.
Then I cancel that one, removed "--no-dns" and "--no-routes" parameters, substituted credentials provided in "-c path" with "-u USERNAME -p PASSWORD", launched that and I was able to reach both resources from internet and from corporate network!
So here's what was totally working for me:
openfortivpn <HOSTNAME> -u MYSUERNAME -p HIDDENPASS --pinentry /usr/lib/networkmanager/nm-fortisslvpn-pinentry --pppd-plugin /usr/lib/pppd/2.4.9/nm-fortisslvpn-pppd-plugin.so
My questions are:
- is there a way to remove "--no-dns" and "--no-routes" params from final command that is launched by clicking on "connect" button?
- what may be the reason why those 2 flags leads to to being unable to reach any resource both in internet and corporate network?
Thank you.
