Computer freeze when dragging image out of PDF
Dragging an image out of a PDF in Papers nightly over Nautilus reproducible freezes systems. It is enough to drag the file over Nautilus. The freeze happens before being able to drop the file.
The issue is reproducible in GNOME OS, Debian, and Arch.
Here is a PDF that can trigger the issue example.pdf. It is however not limited to this PDF file at all.
My last log entry is
papers[359593]: Failed to receive drop data: Could not convert data from application/vnd.portal.filetransfer to GdkFileList
The log message is probably not related to the issues. It is rather caused by dropping the image onto the PDF (Papers) itself before triggering the issue. But I guess it shows that the drag+drop is trying to use the FileTransfer portal? After triggering the crash, the system is frozen and no log entries are created.
We already had issues in Loupe with drag+drop and app crashes when we used actual image data and not just a file path. But never crashing the complete system. We are no longer using anything but file paths so we only avoided the issue.
