Split the MAME platform
MAME isn't really a platform, it's an emulator for arcade machines ranging from the earliest prototypes of what we can call video games to machines released in the 21st century. It results in Games having a gigantic "Arcade" platform with thousands and thousands of games.
While nowadays arcade platforms are fairly well defined, with some well branded machines receiving games from various vendors, in the early days of the arcades there were no platforms and the games couldn't be dissociated from the machine running it, even if sometimes se same board was reused to create a another game or two.
Maybe we could decide to split that "Arcade" platform into smaller ones, using well known platforms where possible (Neo Geo, CPS2…) and using a more englobing name for loosely defined platforms ("Konami vintage arcade" for games from its 8-bit era e.g.).
