Ignore accents when highlighting?

Description
I have a colleague whose name is Dorée and whose IRC nick is doree. When someone says “dorée” in a channel she is in, Empathy does not highlight her.
I think the reverse case is probably more likely on (say) Jabber, where non-ASCII nicks are supported: someone joins a MUC as “dorée”; someone else doesn't know how to type “é” and says “doree” instead; Empathy wouldn't highlight her.
We might consider ignoring accents on Roman characters (I don't know what's appropriate for other scripts) when looking for highlights, just like Empathy ignores case when highlighting (so highlights me, “wjt”, when someone says “WJT”).
