Confusing photo previews
I just tried this app for the first time, and my experience taking a photo was a bit confusing. It happened a bit like this:
- Took a picture - preview showed up as a small thumbnail. I was uncertain what it was at first (even though I'm used to the convention from Android)... for some reason it didn't feel comfortable (one thing, I think, is that the preview lacked a hover state, so didn't feel clickable)
- When I opened the preview, I wasn't sure what I was looking at. Yes it's my photo, but what do I do here? There wasn't anything obvious.
- I tried the hamburger menu, expecting to see actions that I could take with the photo (save, share, etc) but it just had generic items for the app (about, keyboard shortcuts)
- Went back, took a bunch more photos. Went back to the preview. Where are the others? It felt like something was broken or missing. Had those other photos been taken? Aren't they supposed to be shown here? Where are they?
I eventually went hunting in my home directory and found the images in ~/Pictures, but it took a bit of detective work.
There's a bunch of small fixes that could be done here to improve the experience, but I guess my main question is - what is the preview for? At the moment I don't see an obvious purpose.
