I suggest we implement a simple base class for all of them, taking care of the basic layout, so they can all look consistent. As we kinda agreed on the design these dialogs should have when discussin gthe history dialog's design, I suggest we use that design as the target.Adrien PlazasAdrien Plazashttps://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libhandy/-/issues/131Provide a HdyMessageDialog (maybe)2019-06-25T19:27:33ZAndrea VeriProvide a HdyMessageDialog (maybe)Hi, while experimenting with GEdit on the Librem5 VM (because of [this](https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gedit/issues/182) bug report) I tried converting `gedit-close-confirmation-dialog.c` to use HdyDialog, but it turned out quite hard, a...Hi, while experimenting with GEdit on the Librem5 VM (because of [this](https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gedit/issues/182) bug report) I tried converting `gedit-close-confirmation-dialog.c` to use HdyDialog, but it turned out quite hard, as you need to reimplement `gtk_message_dialog_set_markup`, `_set_subtitle` and the like.
This makes me wonder what would be better replay GtkMessageDialog on top of HdyDialog to create HdyMessageDialog, migrate the existing GtkMessageDialog-s and provide a migration guide, or maybe something else?

Current design of message dialogs does not use titlebars. I mean it's possible to specify title for message dialog but common GNOME software like gedit or Nautilus don't do it intentionally.
It's hard to move windows without title. I know that empty space for title is reserved at the top of message dialog even when title itself is not specified but when user does not see title, he might have problem with guessing how to drag message dialog.
In my private [`gtk.css`](https://github.com/TomaszGasior/my-gnome-settings) I solved it by:
```
messagedialog {
-GtkWidget-window-dragging: true;
}
```
It does not break custom widgets inside message dialog and it's more intuitive. chemistry relevant formats into each other, and the generation of a
graphical representation in either .png or .svg format. Advantageously,
these conversions may be run in batches, too. Beside working with «true
files», it is possible to provide openbabel a SMILES string describing
the structure in sufficient detail as input, i.e.
```
obabel -:"c1ccccn1" -O pyridine.svg
```
to create a structure representation about pyridine which equally is attached
below. I wonder, however, why EOG displays the character «N» *with serifs*,
despite the underlying .svg clearly states in lines 22 and 23:
```
<text font-size="18.000000" fill ="black" font-family="sans-serif"
x="10.000000" y="20.000000" ></text>
```
![pyridine](/uploads/698fc398bf9f59481da9afa6c51fc94a/pyridine.png)
Converting the .svg with cairosvg into a .pdf yields the expected representation
without serifs:
```
cairosvg pyridine.svg -o pyridine.pdf
```
![pyridine_correct](/uploads/390361423041c32df18e3151b7048353/pyridine_correct.png)
Just for testing the font issue, muting all chemical reason, I then requested
openabel to create a not-reasonable heterocycle including oxygen, nitrogen,
sulfur, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, and iodine by
```
obabel -:"c1onsFClBrI1" -O testing.svg
```
which, replicating this «feature», displays the labels again with the not-expected
serifs in the .svg:
![testing](/uploads/576108a1fb5c6a57cbe8037656a85d56/testing.png)
As a side note, [ristretto (0.8.2)](https://docs.xfce.org/apps/ristretto/start) and [pinta (1.6) ](https://pinta-project.com/pintaproject/pinta/) equally matches eog's pattern. [Inkscape 0.92.3 (2405546, 2018-03-11)](https://inkscape.org/) however provides a correct, non-serif import of the .svg in question.
