## Description
Package: gnome-core
Severity: normal
Version: 1.3.0cvs
Synopsis: Gnome-terminal dies after resizing
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-core
Bugzilla-Component: gnome-terminal
Description:
I opened a new Gnome terminal and immediately attempted to resize it. It immediately crashed with a segmentation fault. Normally this problem is seen after logging in and then either happens consistently (i.e. every time a open a Gnome terminal) or not at all.

## Description
At present, when I click on some Japanese text in order to copy it to another
application, it "grabs" all the adjacent spaces and punctuation and only stops
at an ASCII character. This is very frustrating, as I only ever want the
Japanese text itself. Can the handling of Japanese text be made consistent
with that of European languages, i.e. the grab stops at punctuation and
other whitespace characters.
Other information:
You may want to try and match the old kterm (kanji terminal) application, It
does it right. Actually MLTERM is better than Gnome terminal in this respect.

>Description:
I was running two Gnome-terminals over X11 forwarding on a SSH session,
and when I tried to run a big Java program that my company makes on one
terminal, the other terminal almost instantly crashed due to a
segmentation fault.
>How-To-Repeat:
This may be very difficult to reproduce without access to our internal
network. You could try it out as follows:
1) SSH into a SSH gateway (running Linux)
2) From the SSH gateway, SSH into another Linux workstation
3) On the Linux workstation, open two Gnome-terminals with
"gnome-terminal &"
4) Run a Java program on one terminal
I have done this in the past a couple of times, and this is the first
time a terminal has crashed.

## Description
It must be possible to configure gnome-terminal to send a raw [DEL]
character on hitting the Delete key.
Legacy applications may require a hard [DEL] character instead of the
escape sequence that the Delete key currently sends; swapping the Backspace
key from ^H to [DEL] to achieve this takes away the ability to backspace
while editing and breaks the (legacy OS and application) documentation that
says "hit the [DELETE] key to ...".
Greater flexibility in programing keystrokes does belong on the wishlist.
This particular instance is a major bug for us and needs sooner resolution.

>Description:
Hi,
when the popup menu acquires the "open in browser" item is slightly
different from when the url in the terminal is underlined. if the mouse
cursor is over the lower part of the text line, then the underlining will
appear, but the menu item will not.
this is bothering me because i then always accidentally click the other
lowest menu item, namely "reset and clear", and this makes the cursor keys
not work until i detach my screen session, and echo "\ec", and re-attach.
making the "open in browser" menu item be grayed out and not absent would be
an ok workaround if the underlining thing is hard to fix.

## Description
Gnome-terminal -> preferences -> browse fonts.
This products the font selector. It has no filters
applied. gnome-terminal can't handle proportional
fonts. If you try it, it lets you, and then you
get stuff l i k e t h i s h a p p e n i n g.
(That will only make sense if you don't have a
proportional font in whatever's rendering that:
spaces everywhere.)
This is easy to solve if you know what happened.
It's impossible if you're new to Gnome and don't
know what happened.
I think that the font selector should be started
with a filter of usable (monospace? all but
proportional?) fonts applied if you're starting it
from gnome-terminal.

## Description
Package: control-center
Severity: major
Version: Current
Synopsis: Term Crash
Bugzilla-Product: control-center
Bugzilla-Component: general
Description:
If I have multiple terms opened, started from the shortcut at the top tool bar and I move one, they all will crash and close. I don't get any error messages. It seems the X server perhaps? Gets in a bad state, if I shutdown the X server and it will reset. But after an hour or so of heavy usage the problem comes back.
I don't see the problem with Xterms.
