With the mouse I move a task from the OMS task list to the Default task list. In the bottom Evolution writes “Moving”. Evolution-calendar-factory issues a PUT, receives 201 Created. It does not issue DELETE, but apparently Evolution knows that the task list is read-only. Evolution shows the error (in the top):
```
Failed to move a task into the task list “aaa@aegee.org : Default”
Cannot remove calendar object: Permission denied”
```
I suggest either to trigger by mouse only a Copy, but not a Move operation, showing the corresponding icon (as if the Ctrl key is implicitly pressed), when the source is read-only. Or visiually do not allow moving, unless the Crtl key is pressed, by providing some hints to the user to press Ctrl.
In the opposite direction, when a task is moved from Default to OMS, Evolution shall change the mouse cursor to show that the read-only OMS cannot be used as destination. Currently is issues an error, after the mouse button is released.https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/epiphany/-/issues/1622Tab history is lost if placeholder tab is not removed before quitting Epiphany2022-09-01T14:45:31ZGuillaume AyoubTab history is lost if placeholder tab is not removed before quitting EpiphanyWhen a session is restored and then closed again, the tabs that have not been open lose their history.

### GIMP Help Browser on Windows, slow loading and no text
When pressing F1 or any help button on the dialogs, the GIMP Help Browser on Windows loads very slowly and initially doesn't show any text.
The page is initially empty with some icons and layout rectangles visible. Only when you start clicking or scrolling it sometimes appears correctly. I.e. when you move the scroll bar up and down, select some text or press CTRL+A or CTRL+F the text finally does appear tbh it's unclear to me what input exactly triggers the text to appear correctly, I can't reliably reproduce it.
So on any dialog, press the `Help` button to start the GIMP Help Browser
![gimp_documentation_1](/uploads/c82337c3b39696eb424ffbce85c591f4/gimp_documentation_1.png)
Initially the page is empty and scrambled, you can select invisible text
![gimp_documentation_2](/uploads/e56fba60640ff302ca9265e8c1f967a7/gimp_documentation_2.png)
After waiting for it to load and some mouse clicking or scrolling, the help text will sometimes appear.

### Use cases
Help documentation is very valuable for newcomers and first time users, and having to wait for empty help pages is annoying.
Also wouldn't it be easier to open an online wiki page or something like that, instead of creating a custom help browser?https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/4772Rotating the display on a tablet on a tablet makes apps on grid small2021-11-10T09:30:33Zjohnledezma34Rotating the display on a tablet on a tablet makes apps on grid small<!--

I'm currently experimenting to move my workstation to Fedora, so I'm not that advanced in Linux.
The Google Drive implementation in Nautilius is cool, but I can't work with Autodesk Maya since it can't open files located there. I also saw Blender's file explorer also can't read the folders.
There's some type of workaround? Maybe having a temporal cache in disk?

The mouse seems to go "under" it, as in, if there's a link under that bar, I can click it. Doing a screenshot doesn't capture it, and therefore I had to take a picture with my cellphone. Here's how it looks:
![panel](/uploads/3a2e64df507e22c37443083936ff6ded/panel.jpeg)
I'm not really sure if it's a bug, or a settings issue. But it appeared at some point and I'm not sure how to diagnose the issue. I've posted the issue on [unix.stackexchange](https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/676801/gnome3-v40-transparent-bar-on-the-buttom) with no luck.
Distro: ArchLinux
Extensions:
```
$ gsettings get org.gnome.shell enabled-extensions
['apps-menu@gnome-shell-extensions.gcampax.github.com']
```
I would attach the output of `gsettings list-recursively` here, but there's a lot of personal data in that output, so I'll be happy to paste whichever setting you think is relevant, I just don't know which ones are.

Files 3.36.3 Stable
I've successfully connected to my google using GOA - My Drive shows up OK in Files and I can see all documents I created. However files and folders 'shared with me' by others do not show by default.
I can get folders shared with me to show if I go to the Google web interface and use shift-z to add the shared folder to My Drive.
As an alternative (to see what would happen) I used google-drive-ocamlfuse and connected to the same account. Documents and folders shared with me by others are surfaced in a hidden folder called .shared and can be accessed from Files or other desktop applications.
Any pointers to something I've missed would be useful.

```
This seems to be due to libportal, but I don't know if this is caused by a problem in the flatpak build config in this project, or directly in libportal.
If needed, [here is the full logs provided by meson](https://paste.gnome.org/p3hiewqsy).
Should I contact the libportal developers, or should this issue be resolved here?
Using Fedora 35, ask me if you need other informations.
that strings should be separated by newline.
The issue is that dictionaries with string keys are treated differently from other dictionaries (i.e. with integer keys). The code that handles the string keys is flawed. It uses a GVariantIter to retrieve the key and the value of the GVariant dict. However, it assumes that it receives a GVariant pointer for both the string key and the value. This assumption is wrong as `g_variant_iter_loop (&iter, "{s*}", &name, &value)` directly returns a char pointer for name and not a GVariant containing the string value.
In the current code, this bug leads to a BAD_ACCESS exception as soon as we call `g_variant_get_string (name, NULL)` (for obvious reasons).
I have been working on [chatty](https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/chatty) - A project for providing messaging services like SMS (using hardware modems), Matrix chat, XMPP chat, etc (with main focus on SMS and Matrix chat (Matrix is currently experimental)) - as my work at Purism SPC. This project is currently being used on phones like Librem5, pinephone and postmarketOS phones, and also works fine with USB Modems (which will be helpful on desktops too).
chatty makes use of GNOME and freedesktop projects (including GTK, eds, ModemManager, libsoup, libsecret, etc.) and follows GNOME HIG. And We believe that chatty would fit GNOME ecosystem as it will provide basic mobile phone features (like SMS/MMS) thus improving the mobile stack.
Chatty makes use the following libraries that are not hosted by GNOME/freedesktop:
1. [feedbackd](https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/feedbackd) - A daemon to provide haptic (and later more) feedback on events
1. [libpurple](https://developer.pidgin.im/) - a library used for developing IM programs
1. [libphonenumber](https://github.com/google/libphonenumber) - A library for parsing and validating phone numbers
We are very much looking forward to your reply.
Mohammed Sadiq
However, an issue I had from the start was that the help did not work. I get this error:
"Could not open 'https:/...Hi, I have been running GIMP 2.10.24 for some time and have been gradually trying to improve my knowledge of the program. However, an issue I had from the start was that the help did not work. I get this error:
Yesterday I had a go at resolving this by following the instructions on this page https://www.gimp.org/downloads/ downloading the flatpak program and running it. It did not update things as I had hoped. Instead, as a result, I now have two versions of GIMP, one of which, as above, still has the help not working and also the latest version whose help _does_ work!
Obviously this is not ideal. I do not want to simply remove the older version because it has several settings and brushes etc which I do not want to lose. Similarly, neither do I want to remove the new version, not just because the help works <G> but also for fear that I might also damage the older installation and lose that too!
Please advise - in simple terms - I'm new to this (linux) thing.
TIA, Chris
